
ABOUT OUR KARATE SCHOOL
Established in 2021 the North Lanarkshire Institute of Karate is a Shotokan karate school based in the Iain Nicolson Centre in Chryston and also the Broadwood dojo in Cumbernauld.
Practicing in both Traditional and Sport Karate the club aims to produce and nurture karateka both young and old.

Sensei Paul Monigatti 3rd Dan

Sensei Monigatti began training in the art of Shotokan Karate in 2010 as a member of the Glasgow Karate Academy. During this time Paul has developed his knowledge of the art under the guidance of Sensei Ben Fail 4th Dan, Chief Instructor to the GKA. Paul graded under Sensei Frank Brennan 8th Dan and Sensei Andy Sherry 9th Dan. Paul has competed in various competitions over the years including representing Scotland.
Paul's aim for the NLIK is to develop each and every student to their fullest potential.
